NCA-MUG is a special-interest “hobby” association. Members share technology interests, gathering in person for the purposes of interaction and recreation, the sharing and exchange of news and information, mutual support, and other related, not-for-profit purposes. Since January 2007, NCA-MUG provides the Mac community with a venue where members can meet, ten times each year. NCA-MUG members gather at in-person meetups (on hold during the pandemic), Zoom meetups (activated in March, 2020), and have the ability to communicate between meetups via an active online Forum. Whether online or in-person, NCA-MUG’s gatherings and forum connect members with others interested in “things Apple” and function as a place to learn how to make the most of Mac computers and other Apple-related products. | At our meetups we learn from one another and enjoy a wide variety of interesting, informative, and practical presentations by knowledgeable speakers, on Apple/Mac-related topics. Among a wide variety of topics at our meetups, past topics have included occasional presentations from our local representative; recommended apps for Mac, iPad, iPhone, and Apple Watch users; overviews of software application programs found on recent Macs; best practices for security and back-up; reviews and uses of popular third-party software and hardware; new product introductions; a variety of tips and tricks; and much more. As of September 23, 2021, National Capital Apple Macintosh Users Group has been granted 501(c)(7) status, as a non-profit, unincorporated association. |
